Over 25 years experience of employment in ecology

  

 

Based in north Lancashire, work is primarily undertaken in North West England (Lancashire, Cumbria, Merseyside, North Yorkshire),

but work further afield is also considered

Considerable experience in the survey and sustainable management of semi-natural habitats including woodlands, grasslands, limestone pavement, sand dune, saltmarsh, peatlands, moorland, riparian habitats and other wetlands.

 

Extensive knowledge and experience of the National Vegetation Classification (NVC) and Phase 1 Habitat Survey, including work on NVC projects with the Lancaster University Unit of Vegetation Science.

 

 

 

 

Experienced also in the survey and ecology of a wide range of animal species including mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and butterflies. 

 

Currently hold a Natural England licence to undertake survey work on the protected natterjack toad. 

 

Specialist knowledge of the ecology and conservation of red squirrels, gained through several years of research.
